Suite Team

Director - David Alsop

Born 1972 in Rotorua, Suite director David Alsop started collecting artworks in the early 1990s while at University.  He has his first introduction to art dealing in 1997 through a professional association with Peter McLeavey.

Upon his return from a five year stint living in the Netherlands Alsop had a chance meeting with Neil Pardington on a bike ride around the South Coast.  Six months later Suite opened at 69 Owen St, Newtown.  While abroad Alsop made many international contacts and the opportunity to be the first in the Southern Hemisphere to exhibit works by artists including Desiree Dolron and James Aldridge was one of the catalysts for the establishment of Suite.  His other objective was to create an international market for the New Zealand artists Suite represents.  By exhibiting alongside significant international artists, New Zealand artists are show-cased via the internet to a discerning international audience.

Alsop holds an LLB Hons (First Class) and BSocSc (Geography and Political Science).  He co-directs Suite HQ with Susannah Shaw.
