Overview
Architecture is the common thread that binds the work in this show. Not only is it the conceptual origin of both artists' work, it also provides a springboard for disruption, reconfiguration and transformation in the AI fuelled world in which we live.
Jaimee Peters’ work draws from architectural images (particularly public buildings and brutalist structures) to reconstruct new forms as a backdrop for paradoxical ideas: chaotic and controlled, fluid and static, accessible and repelling.
Contradictory associations are also explored in Megan Archer’s work, which combines traditional art-making techniques with digital processes to create playful, surreal worlds.
