Daniel Unverricht | Falls Away: {Suite}
Daniel Unverricht is known for his brooding oil paintings of small town New Zealand at night. Over the past two decades, he has developed a distinctive visual language that captures the eerie solitude of deserted streets and industrial environments after dark.
Unverricht’s paintings are almost always uninhabited. He is a master at rendering light, although his canvases extract little warmth from it.
Based in Carterton and originally from Hastings, Unverricht graduated from the Eastern Institute of Technology before completing a Master of Fine Arts at Elam in 2003.
