Congratulations to {Suite} artist Richard Lewer who was selected as one of nine artists by the Art Gallery of New South Wales to create a major new work for the gallery's transformed art museum campus, due to open late 2022. The Art Gallery’s transformation is known as the 'Sydney Modern Project'.
This is the largest commissioning program since the institution opened 150 years ago, and all the works are for the Art Gallery’s permanent collection. Richard's site-specific work will explore the lives and stories of those involved in the design and construction of the Sydney Modern Project - paying homage to those who have helped build this cultural and architectural landmark.
